Myanmar(burma), a country in southeast Asia, has over 1900 kms (1180 miles) coastline from
the Bay of Bengal and the Adaman Sea. The country is rich in mineral resources like gems, jade
and oil, natural gas and others but is economically poor. Besides other mountain ranges in the
country the Henghuan Mountains foms its southern border. Irrawaddy is the largest of the three
river systems in the country. About a million tourist a year visited the country lately. Among others
the tourism attractions here include religious sites, anciet cities, beaches, island destinations,
museum and national parks. Rangoon (Yangon) is the capital, the largest city and the third major
of the three international airports besides others in the country.

Getting around: Personal and rental autos, buses, taxis, inter-city boat, train and tour vehicles
Tourist seasons: High tourist season is May, June, mid season November, December, July and
low season January to April, August to October.
