Dominican Island This second largest nation in the Caribbean Sea shares the
Island of Hispaniola with Haiti. Spread over an area of about 18705 sq miles this country is the
most visited tourist destination in the Caribbean. Tourist attractions here include well developed

Getting around: There are a few highways, tollways, secondary routes and other roadways in
the country, government controlled public bus services, mass transit system metra services within
cities, air services within the country, auto rentals, hotel operated shuttle bus services, mutli
passenger taxis, railways, ports and harbors are available.

Tourist seasons: High tourist season is December to February, mid season March to May and
low season June to November.
